This tutorial is designed to allow you to create an Auto responder within the Enlighten Hosting Webmail system.
1. - Login to the Enlighten Hosting webmail system. |
 |
2. - Select the Tools menu and click Options |
 |
3. - Under the Mail tab there is an Autoresponder box, this is disabled by default |
 |
4. - There are the following options with Auto Responder Modes. a. Disabled This means that the Auto Responder is disabled.
b. Respond Always All messages sent to this account will have recieve an auto response message. This means that if the same person emails you four times while the responder is enabled, they will receive the auto response message four times.
c. Respond Once The response message will be sent to all senders once only. The mail server keeps a log of previous email senders so messages will not loop and will be sent once only to the sender while enabled . This means that if the same person emails you four times while the responder is enabled, they will receive the auto response message once.
d. Respond after a period This option is similar to the Respond Once option except multiple responders will be sent. The next field on the right contains the number of days a responder should be inactive. When the number of days the last response exceed the limit a new responder will be automatically sent.
Typically you would use a low number such as 7. In such case the sender no matter how many messages he sent during 2 weeks will receive 2 responder messages. The second one will be sent after a week from the first one sent.
