Every Second Tuesday of the month is “patch Tuesday” at Enlighten Hosting.
On this day, Enlighten Hosting deploys patches provided by Microsoft (and often third parties) to our platform as part of scheduled maintenance.
This patching may, at times, require the restarting of services and can therefore result in short periods of downtime of some services during the maintenance window.
Enlighten Hosting will generally also use this service window to update encryption certificates, or make other minor service changes with a view to increasing security, or improving services.
Rather than emailing customers of these maintenance windows, and the specific patches and changes involved monthly, Enlighten Hosting has chosen to make use of this support site to inform about any specific effects of patching and other maintenance activities on “patch Tuesday”. Check back here in the Maintenance Schedule Blog each month for patching and maintenance service information if this is of interest.
The Maintenance windows will typically begin at 10PM New Zealand time (UTC + 12:00) and will generally be short, with a target of less than one hour. Actual downtime is often just a few moments when services are restarted following patching.
Should there be a reason to move or schedule an emergency maintenance task (for example, for a critical security patch), details will be placed in the Maintenance Schedule Blog as soon as possible, along with any other information considered useful for clients regarding a specific maintenance window.

Hello.
You may be aware of the recent Global outages caused by the CrowdStrike Falcon software. Enlighten Hosting is a user of this software, and took immediate action to disable this platform when the issues began.
Now that the underlying issues are resolved, we must re-enable the platform to re-establish the important protection of systems and data it provides on this "special" patch Tuesday. This requires a restart of the servers, and therefore there will be a short period of downtime for each system this evening starting sometime after 10PM today. This impacts the windows server systems only.
This is a hazard notification of an upcoming special patch window for Enlighten hosting.
We will be applying a critical Firmware upgrade for our storage area network (SAN) on Tuesday 29 October around 10PM.
During this time, service performance may be impacted, however as the controllers are multipath/redundant there is no expected downtime.
This change impacts all Services on all hosts including email and hosted web sites at Enlighten Hosting.
Update: The Firmware update could not be performed 29 October, and will be retried 30 October 10PM.

We have an important OS patch we need to apply across all our Windows based servers, this will be done in a special patch window tomorrow evening start at 10PM. Those with window based services (Webservers, our email service and Microsoft SQL) may experience a short downtime.

Next week (Tuesday 21 January) we will be making some changes tot he back-end of our email services, switching the database DBMS to a different platform. This will begin around 10PM, and may impact email and webmail services for a short while. There will be no functional changes.
This is required in preparation for further upcoming email service upgrades.

This patch Tuesday we will be updating our in-house e-mail server to the latest version starting at about 10PM.
This will take some time, and will result in a little downtime for all users. Be aware that email may be unavailable. Note that we do not expect any major functionality changes, but the new version does feature better security and virus/spam/malware detection which we will enable over the next weeks.

Hello.
We have decided to install an important out-of-band security patch this evening affecting all servers that have .net core on them. This will be performed this evening 23/10/25 starting from 10PM and will impact all sites and applications that share servers with any applications that use .net core 8.x and .net core 9.x. Please see CVE-2025-55315 for detail. Additionally apps running .netcore 2.3 may or may not be vulnerable, but server patches cannot address them.
Lastly, the latest standard OS patches will be bundled with the .net core emergency patches in order to reduce future need for server restarts.
FYI, we will be patching the external firewalls tonight after 10PM, this means they need to reboot a couple of times and there will be a few moments of downtime.

This is a heads up that we intend to upgrade and patch our in-house email solution on 25 November 2025 starting around 10PM. We will increase the available disk storage which is running low, and also apply some important upgrades and patches to the core email software itself. There may be a short period of downtime, and there may also be some minor changes to the webmail interface and other functionalities also.
Hi, this is a quick heads up that tomorrow (03/12/25) we will be applying some upgrades and patches to our portal site https://accounts.enlightenhosting.com after 10PM.
There will be a period of downtime while these are installed and tested, during which the site will be placed in maintenance mode.
There may be some small changes to the interface after the updates.
