Every Second Tuesday of the month is “patch Tuesday” at Enlighten Hosting.
On this day, Enlighten Hosting deploys patches provided by Microsoft (and often third parties) to our platform as part of scheduled maintenance.
This patching may, at times, require the restarting of services and can therefore result in short periods of downtime of some services during the maintenance window.
Enlighten Hosting will generally also use this service window to update encryption certificates, or make other minor service changes with a view to increasing security, or improving services.
Rather than emailing customers of these maintenance windows, and the specific patches and changes involved monthly, Enlighten Hosting has chosen to make use of this support site to inform about any specific effects of patching and other maintenance activities on “patch Tuesday”. Check back here in the Maintenance Schedule Blog each month for patching and maintenance service information if this is of interest.
The Maintenance windows will typically begin at 10PM New Zealand time (UTC + 12:00) and will generally be short, with a target of less than one hour. Actual downtime is often just a few moments when services are restarted following patching.
Should there be a reason to move or schedule an emergency maintenance task (for example, for a critical security patch), details will be placed in the Maintenance Schedule Blog as soon as possible, along with any other information considered useful for clients regarding a specific maintenance window.

Patch Tuesday is coming!
There are patches to be installed on most hosting systems this coming Tuesday (06/12/16) and this will result in short periods of website downtime while this is occurring.

Hello everyone.
Next Tuesday (March 3) around 10PM will be when we do our yearly update on the Enlighten Hosting mail server security certificates. It generally goes very smoothly, but a small number of clients may receive certificate related errors after the change. Usually 'accepting' the new certificate is enough to resolve any problems, but please contact us if issues persist.

This is a notification that upcoming patch Tuesday (August 10) we will be updating the Operating System on our main hosted email server.
This will begin around 10PM (NZ time).
This is a major update and may result in up to a few hours of downtime for email services that use the mail.enlightenhosting.com server during the night.
Note that this impacts services that make use of the mail.enlightenhosting.com server, If you have email (including web or relay services) that does use this server, they may fail or be delayed during this period.

The following Patch Tuesday (September 14), we will likely be updating the actual mail software though the planning for this is not yet complete.

This week on Patch Tuesday (Tuesday 21 September, from 10PM), we are applying software upgrades to the primary hosted email server - Mail.enlightenhosting.com
This means the server may be offline for some time, and there may be some minor issues after patching that need to be addressed.
It also means that the look and feel of the server may change, especially the webmail, which is receiving some significant changes and improvements.

Hello. An intermediate certificate used by Let's encrypt has expired this morning, and this means that some sites, from some browsers will be showing certificate errors. We are working on a fix and there may be a short period of downtime while we address this on our webservers.

Hi. Due to various circumstances, we missed patch Tuesday last week, so we will be catching up this week! Systems will be patched from 10PM tomorrow (Tuesday 21/02/2023) evening, and there may be some outages while this is happening.
Next week on Tuesday, 9 May during "Patch Tuesday" we will be replacing the clustered firewalls we have in place in the Datacenter with newer, faster, more secure models. This process will start around 10PM, and there will be some downtime for ALL services provided by Enlighten Hosting when we do this. We expect downtime will be a few moments, but it's possible that it could extend depending on circumstances.
